One hour from Skopje.
A world away from everything.
Welcome
Hidden in the village of Crvulevo, at the foot of Plačkovica mountain, Etno Luks is not a hotel. It is not a resort in the ordinary sense. It is a place built by hand — stone by stone, beam by beam — by a family that moved here, fell in love with the silence, and decided to share it.
A stream runs through the property. Birds wake you in the morning. Occasionally, a cow wanders past the door. The nearest town is 15 kilometres away. The nearest crowds — much further.
Six apartments. Sixteen guests maximum. A restaurant that cooks only for you.
This is not a coincidence. It is the point.
What makes Etno Luks unlike anywhere else
What makes Etno Luks unlike anywhere else
A home, not a hotel
We live here. We are always present — not as staff, but as hosts. Guests arrive as strangers and leave as friends. Some return so often they feel like family. Every person who walks through our gate is treated as a VIP who has come to our home — because that is exactly what this is.
Craftsmanship in every detail
Etno Luks was built by our own hands — primarily by my father, with the rest of the family. Stone walls, solid wood, considered proportions. Nothing was rushed. Guests notice this without being told. They ask about every corner, every detail, every choice. That attention is woven into the walls.

Russian Banya
The only authentic Russian banya on the Balkans
Not a sauna. Not a steam room. A traditional Russian banya, built to exacting Russian standards, wood-fired, and designed to do something a regular sauna simply cannot — deeply restore the body and mind. Our guests discover this difference the moment they step inside.
An outdoor wood-fired jacuzzi under the open sky
Heated by wood. Open to the night. Whether you are watching the stars in winter or breathing the mountain air in summer, this is the kind of experience you do not forget.
Our food and restaurant
A kitchen that runs on love, not menus
My mother cooks. Every day, with seasonal ingredients sourced from the surrounding villages — bread baked by the village baker next door, eggs from the village, homemade ajvar from a local woman. The menu changes with the season, the mood, and what the land is offering. You will not find the same meal twice.
The surroundings
The surroundings
Step outside and you are surrounded by centuries of history and unspoiled nature. The archaeological site of Bargala — dating back to the 4th century BC — is a 20-minute walk through the fields. Two authentic local monasteries sit within easy reach, including Lesnovo Monastery, 45 minutes away. Canyon Kamnik is nearby. Trails wind through Plačkovica mountain for walks of every length. Bicycles are available for guests who want to explore at their own pace.
This is a part of Macedonia that most travellers have never discovered. That is changing — slowly, and on its own terms.
